Aileen B. Cho, MA, LMFT, RDT/BCT, CEDS, is a second-generation, bilingual Korean American psychotherapist. She is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of California, a Registered Drama Therapist and Board Certified Trainer through the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).
Aileen earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), and her B.A. in Theatre (with a Area of Focus in Psychology) from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She is currently Core Faculty and an Associate Professor in the Drama Therapy Program at CIIS.
Her past clinical experience includes training and working in a domestic violence and sexual assault center/shelter, community mental health, the Veterans Affairs (VA), and middle and high school settings. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults, couples, groups, and families in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and private practice—treating trauma, eating disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions throughout the Bay Area and Southern California. She provides in-service trainings and consultations for a range of programs and organizations.
