Art, Drama, and Music Therapists are psychological therapists who use art, drama, or music as their primary mode of communication. They are statutory regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and all therapists must meet the HCPC’s criteria to be legally registered practitioners.

 Art, Drama, and Music Therapists provide a unique, clinically and economically effective treatment and care option for individuals who may find it challenging to express themselves verbally or prefer an alternative form of expression.

Art, Drama, and Music Therapists facilitate emotional expression and understanding in a supportive systemic approach. They work across a range of care pathways with individuals of all ages facing a range of mental and physical health needs, including those with comorbidities. Art, Drama, and Music Therapists are Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) who specialise in treating clients with complex mental health conditions.

The Art, Drama, and Music Therapies professions are unique in that they are recognised as being registerable titles as Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), as well as within the taxonomy of the Psychological Professions (PP) and included within the PP Networks in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ ר and as Psychological Therapies in Northern Ireland.
