Join the roundtable to explore a critical issue within higher education: the placement experiences of pre-registration AHP learners from a global majority.
There is growing anecdotal and emerging evidence that these students often face microaggressions and racism during placements. This may manifest as:
?? Targeted discrimination and inequitable treatment
?? Inadequate mentorship and support
?? Racism from patients
?? Normalisation of abusive behaviours
These experiences can significantly impact the following:
?? Student wellbeing and progression—leading to failed placements
?? Reduced levels of attainment,
?? And in some cases, withdrawal from programmes.
To explore this issue further, BIAHPA will host a stakeholder roundtable on
?? Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, from 1:00–3:00 PM (virtual) ??
This invitation-only event will bring together key voices from across education, practice, and policy to share insights and identify actionable solutions.
We also inviting a few stakeholders via an Expression of Interest process
We request you to kindly RSVP by Sunday, 23rd November 2025.
